About the Project

Founded in December 2024, the Kolkata Skilling Club (KSC) hopes to implement its vision through a structured approach that focuses on upskilling individuals from vulnerable communities, so that they are able to meet the specific demands of retail industries in the present. This includes the development of original and easy-to-access training resources, which are customized to improve one’s soft skills like communication, teamwork, and problem-solving. By aligning these skilling initiatives with the current needs of the industry, the project is dedicated to enhancing the preparedness of young people in retail work environments. 

To further actualize its objectives, KSC is also committed to undertaking awareness-raising initiatives and action-oriented programs like fundraising campaigns, workshops, and corporate partnership pitches, with the aim of ensuring job placements for participants. The initiative’s ultimate goal is to ensure that these measures empower young individuals with the tools they need for professional success while simultaneously helping them develop strong industry connections that build a more sustainable, equitable, and durable future Indian workforce.
